Floyd County High School’s Lady Buffaloes — state champions from last season — kicked off the 2013-14 season Monday night in Hillsville with a 66-42 win over Carroll County.

With predictions that the team will contend for another state title this year, the opening night win shows the team starting off with a strong showing.

The team meets Christiansburg Wednesday night for the home season opener at 7 p.m.
