After a projected high of 40 on Saturday and 45 on Sunday, bitter cold is expected to move into the area with a high of 29 on Monday with a projected low of two degrees before zero, then only 21 on Tuesday and a low overnight.
Then temperatures will start creeping back up with a high of 40 projected for Wednesday.
Rain on Sunday could turn into freezing rain with the possibility of snow on Monday and Tuesday.
If the low drops before zero on Monday night it will be the thermometer’s first venture into sub-zero territory since 2005.
Winter has arrived.
