Storm that wasn’t

012814snowSnow, of sorts, arrived in the area Tuesday with 2-4 inches falling, closing schools and businesses early and leaving roads covered and slick.

Schools are closed in Floyd and surrounding counties for Wednesday.

The storm that left the area covered in white was supposed to bypass Floyd County for the most part and stay to the East and South but as with many weather prognostications lately the forecasts missed and the snow came down.

By midnight Tuesday, most of the storm moved off to the East, leaving the county under a blanket of snow and temperatures around 10 degrees but the wind chill made it feel more like zero.
