081111rainWith temperatures only slightly above freezing Wednesday morning, ice if forming on trees, black ice threatens roads while bridges and secondary roads have slick spots.

Schools originally announced they would open two hours late Wednesday but then closed as Floyd County and most of Southwestern Virginia lie just southeast of another winter storm bringing havoc to the Midwest and Northeast.
