Once again in the unusual winter that has gripped the area, the threat of snow was more noise than actual flakes of the white stuff.

Talk of a light snowfall that might hit the area before daybreak turn was just talk and while some flakes still might strike Floyd County sometime Saturday morning, the high today will be around 45 and Sunday’s high is expected at 50 or above.

Next threat of snow?  Wednesday but just “showers” in the prediction right now.

So far, February is turning into less of a winter than January.
