
Floyd County High School’s Lady Buffs closed out the regular season with a 71-39 win over Glenvar, compiling an 11-0 district record and 20-1 overall as they head into Conference Playoffs at home on Wednesday.
Amanda Hollandsworth paced scoring for Floyd County with 16 points and Emily Booth added 12.
The Lady Buffs lead 13-0 at the end of the first quarter, 31-14 in the half and never faced a serious threat from the Glenvar team.
Floyd goes into the Conference 38 playoffs as the top seed and favorite and plays the winner of the Giles-James River team in the semi-finals Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the county high school gym. The winner of that game plays for the conference championship Friday at Floyd.
The school’s boys team enters conference play Thursday night at the Floyd County gym.
