Without a basketball regional championship game for Floyd Saturday night, the big games in town were the Radio Show at the Floyd Country Store and the Mardi Gras fundraiser at the Eco Village.

Blacksburg-based Kat Mills and the Round Peak Ramblers led the guest cast at the monthly Internet-based radio show at the Country Store.

In Bristol, the Gate City Blue Devils won the regional title by beating the Wise County Central Warriors.  Gate City ended the Floyd County Lady Buffs quest for a second-straight state title Thursday night with a last-second winning shot in a touch game in Floyd.

With playoffs hopes ended for both the Buffaloes and Lady Buffs, the focus now turns to Spring sports with baseball, softball, soccer, tennis and track schedules starting in a couple of weeks.
