Looks like a nice weekend with temperatures in the mid-70s and partly sunny Saturday and higher 70s Sunday with more sun.

For runners headed to Roanoke in the early morning hours Saturday for the start of the Blue Ridge Marathon at 7:15 a.m., the early morning will be a little cool but not bad and those participating will be working up a sweat as they climb Roanoke Mountain on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Security is tight this year, thanks to last year’s bombing at the Boston Marathon.

For those from Floyd County headed for the marathon, good luck. For others, enjoy the weekend as we head into the final days of April.
