A large crowd of golfers turned out Saturday for the eighth annual SameFight tournament at Great Oaks Country Club.
Proceeds for this year’s event goes to help young Brianna Graham in her fight for life. Started eight years ago to help three Floyd County children battling a rare form of brain cancer — including Chance Harman, son of Floyd County High School coach Brian Harman, Joshua Cantrell, son of FCHS athletic director Travel Cantrell and grandson of girls’ basketball coach Alan Cantrell; and Kassidy Foster — the tournament draws larger and larger crowds of golfers each year for a worthy cause that helps children in their fight against deadly diseases.
Young Brianna, attending the tournament with her parents, thanked the golfers for their help shortly before the second flight started at 2 p.m. Saturday. Both Travis and Alan Cantrell teed off on the first hold a few minutes later.
