Floyd girls relay team takes win at State

060614track1Strong start with the Floyd County High School track team at the state championship meet at Radford University Friday as the girls’ 4 by 800 relay team took the state title with a record time and the boys team placed.

In softball regional competition, Floyd fell to Dan River 11-1 in the final but still qualifies for the state tournament next week and will meet either Page County or King William in the opener at Moyer Field at 1 p.m. on June 13.

The Lady Buffs are the defending state champions.

  1. Congratulations to the girls 4×800 relay team for their state win! Rebekah, Emily, Hannah and Chandra, you ran an awesome race with an exciting finish! My throat is still sore from the cheering. And congrats to all the Floyd athletes who made it to state this year. Great job!
