Floyd County High School’s Lady Buffaloes open state softball play Friday at 1 p.m. at Moyer Field in Salem against King William in a quest for a repeat state championship.
Their game follows Page County’s match-up against Dan River, the team that beat Floyd last week in the regional final. As a semi-final winner, Floyd still earned a berth in the state playoffs.
The winners of Friday’s two games meet at Radford University’s softball field Saturday at 1 p.m. for the state final.
The Floyd and Dan River both win Friday it will set up a return match between the two.
