What the National Weather Service calls a “wintry mix” is falling outside right now — not quite snow, not quite rain, not quite sleet. The wind is howling too so any ice that forms on the trees could bring down branches and power lines. Let’s hope not.

By middday, they say, it will be mostly rain and with temperatures predicted around 40 it will continue to wash away what is left of our White Christmas.

From Amy and I, plus our six cats, our best wishes to all for a joyful and safe Christmas.

  1. The very same to you from us both and four cats currently staring at a cardinal that insists on admiring himself by fluttering up against our french doors. It is irresistible Kitty TV!! Have a warm and safe Holiday, Doug and Amy.

    • I filled up my feeders before the storm hit. I was surprised to see a large bluejay at the feeder first thing in the morning, helping himself with reckless abandon. The cats were perched on the porch railing below and looking up, as if waiting for the buffet line. Wish I could have caught them on my camera!
