A thin covering of the white stuff greets Floyd Countians and other areas of Southwestern Virginia this morning as parts of the storm that falls heavier west of Interstate 77 brings some of it here.

We’re on the edge of the winter storm warning and forecasters expect an inch or two — perhaps slightly more — but it is expected to become rain and quickly disappear in the murk.

With temperatures just above freezing early Saturday morning and then expected to rise into the 40s the stuff falling from the sky will be more rain as the sun comes up.
