Floyd County High School’s cross country teams put a team on the podium in the Group 2A state meet at Great Meadow on a cold Friday that was still warmer than back home.
Sophomore Emily Williams led Buffaloes finishers with a fourth and freshman Chloe Phillips seventh as the girls finished third and made the all-state team. Junior Sami Shannon came in 14th as the boys finished second.
A good performance in demanding conditions in Northern Virginia.

Way to go XC Boys and Girls!
Great job, Buffalo XC teams! A great finish in spite of the freezing temps and wind chill. And, it was Emily Harris, not Williams, who led Floyd with a fourth place finish.
