Music and sports for the weekend.

The last Friday Night Jamboree before Christmas features Sue Nester & Friends, Katie & the Bubbatones and The Tune Town Old String Band on stage starting at 6:30 p.m.

Over at Dogtown Roadhouse, Time is Art offers “cosmic rock and reagaebilly” on stage starting at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, the Americana Afternoon offers a theatrical presentation on “A Life of Sorrow: The Life and Times of Carter Stanley” by Roanoke actor and Bluegrass authority Gary Reid. It starts at noon at The Floyd Country Store, followed by Marvin Harlow and Friends singing “Songs of the Stanley Brothers” at 1:30.

Scott Perry and Three Shades of Blue play their final show together Saturday night at the Country Store, starting at 7 p.m.

The Three Shades of Blue features Dylan Vest Vest and Jared Richardson on guitar along with Laurel Brooke on violin.  She is headed for college after graduation from Floyd County High School and is leaving the group.

Vest, Richardson and Perry will continue as “Scott Perry and Shades of Blue” in future performances.

Dogtown features The Alliens Reunion and Blue Mountain Brewery Tap Takeover starting at 8:00 p.m. Saturday.

At Wildwood Farms General Store, the Ballards Branch Bogtrotters play from 6-8 p.m.

Over at Floyd County High School, the Buffaloes boys basketball teams take on Pulaski County.  The JV game starts at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity follows at 7:00 p.m.

On Sunday, Mac & Jenny Traynham host an old-time music jam at the Country Store from 2-4 p.m.  At Wildwood, musicians jam from 2-5 p.m.
