Floyd County High School alum Virginia High School Sports scoring champ Caleb Tanner returned to the basketball courts of his old high school Friday as a member of the Elevaj8 Academy in Florida in the Chance Harman Classic tournament.

Tanner, a reserve player on the squad, scored three points in the Academy’s 83-77 loss to Mt. Zion from Maryland.

In pre-game festivities, basketball coach Brian Harman unveiled a banner saluting the 2,770 high school career points during Tanner’s season with the Buffaloes.

Tanner and Tlevaj8 play again Saturday night against Mountain Mission at 8 p.m. to close out the two-day, 14-game tournament at the gymnasium at Floyd County High School.  He will enroll at Radford University and play basketball there.
