
The Floyd County High School Buffaloes beat Giles 56-53 at home Friday night, completing a sweep of the Spartans by both the boys and girls in two straight days.
Led by two key free throws with three seconds on the game clock, Will Cook tallied 19 points for the night, followed by Will Cook with 15.
Cook and Conduff also led the night in three-pointers with two apiece.
The Junior Varsity also won in a game where the Spartans overcame an early lead by the Buffaloes to lead in the third quarter and then fall behind in scoring by the end of the game.
On Thursday, both the varsity and junior varsity Lady Buffs beat Giles in Pearisburg.
The boys lost several close games early in the season but have rebounded to 5-10 overall with a 3-0 district lead.
