As Springlike weather arrives in Floyd County and Southwestern Virginia, the area’s music scene adds to the warm weather and festivities.
At the Friday Night Jamboree, Janet Turner & Friends kicks off the Gospel Hour at 6:30 p.m., followed by 2 Young, 2 Old at 7:30 p.m. and The Indian Run String Band at 9:00 p.m.
Christian Lopez Band with Morgan Wade is at Dogtown Roadhouse at 8 p.m. Friday.
Saturday’s Americana Afternoon at The Floyd Country Store features Bill Adams and Rusty May at noon, the Durham, NC, instrumental due High Clouds at 1:15 p.m. and Roanoke singer/songwriter Egan Green at 2:30 p.m.
Floyd County High School’s basketball alumni games start at noon as well with three games through the afternoon at the high school gym.
The Dixie Bluegrass Boys are on stage at Wildwood General Store on U.S. 221 south of Floyd, starting at 7 p.m.
The April edition of The Floyd Radio Show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Country Store. Beth Macy, Eddie Bond, Elmer Coles and Doc Holmes joine Elizabeth LaPrelle and Anna Roberts-Gevalt for a mix of music, humor and skits on stage and on radio on the Internet.
At Dogtown, J.P. Harris & The Tough Choices open Saturday night music on the stage at Winter Sun at 8 p.m.
