All but one of those running for the contested county races in the Republican primary will speak Thursday night at a candidates’ forum before Floyd County’s tea party at the Jesse Peterman Library on South Main Street.
Brian Craig and Doug Weddle seek the GOP nomination for county sheriff and Eric Branscomb, Harrison Schroeder and Travis Epes want the nod for Commonwealth’s Attorney.
Schroeder cites a scheduling conflict because of a trip out of town for a friend’s wedding and offered to provide the group with a video but said the group declined. The video is posted on Facebook and appears at the end of this article. I plan to shoot video of the candidates speaking and have asked Schroeder for time to shoot him at another time and location . I believe it is important for all candidates to appear and answer questions directly from the public.
The forum begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
