Officially, the Memorial Day weekend that arrives a few days from now is the start of summer but the heat of summer, along with afternoon thunderstorms, is already on us.

A brief break in the storm pattern on Wednesday, then a return to afternoon rain on Thursday and then a possible break over the Memorial Day weekend.
