Memorial Day weekend kicks off Summer and a full slate of activities greets us throughout the area.

The Chantilly Farm Bluegrass and BBQ Festival expands to a two-day event this year, starting at 3:00 p.m. Friday and running from 11 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. Saturday with lots of music, including Rhonda Vincent, Junior Sisk, The Lonesome River Band, Gravel Road, The Wildmans and much more.

Hungry?  Go to the Annual Chili Cookoff from 4:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Lineberry Park in Floyd.  The event by the Rotary Club benefits the Floyd Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

The Friday Night Jamboree kicks off with Geneva & Friends at the Gospel Hour at 6:30 p.m., followed by The Original Jugbusters Band at 7:30 p.m. and The Black Twig Pickers at 9:00 p.m.

Dogtown Roadhouse has The Bumper Jackons from Washington, DC, at 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday, the second day of the Chantilly Farms Blugrass Festival opens at 11 a.m.

At Americana Afternoon at The Floyd Country Store, Christine & the Strays brings her electric musical mix at noon, followed by John Wilson at 1:15 p.m. and Joe Cat at 2:30.

Reptile DysFUNKshen is on stage at 8 p.m. at Dogtown Roadhouse.

The Fisher Peak Ramblers bring their old time music to Wildwood Farms General Store from 7 – 9 p.m. Saturday night.

Music jams at The Floyd Country Store Sunday.  Mac Traynham hosts an Old Time Music Jam from 1:30 -3:30 p.m. at the Country Store and Ben Silcox handles the Bluegrass Music Jam form 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Music jam too at Wildwood from 2 – 4 p.m.
