Floyd’s young musical group, The Wildmans, appeared on the Forever Young stage at FloydFest Friday, one of multiple concerts for the event this year. They play again on the Forever Young stage on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
They provided a traditional mix of tunes on the third day of the annual extravaganza just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Floyd-Patrick County line as the crowds picked up but remained at a lower and comfortable level.
Friday was also the night for Brandi Carlile on the Dreaming Creek stage as the day came to an end and bands continued on other stages into the wee hours of Saturday morning.
Saturday brings headliner Grace Potter with a good forecast and Sunday showcases Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell with a 5:00 p.m. show.
The Wildmans aren’t the only group to be on stage at FloydFest. The Deer Run Drifters opened the show on Wednesday at the Pink Floyd Stage and appeared on Thursday at the Speakeasy venue.
The music schedule runs into Sunday night on several stages.
