The wind howled, the rain fell and the weather changed as a major storm blew through Southwestern Virginia overnight. Fortunately, our power stayed on and the water stayed outside our tightly-sealed home. A tree that needs to be cut down stayed upright and the roof didn't leak. Others weren't so lucky. The news this morning showed widespread flooding, wind damage and other ravages of the latest storm in a season of excess. Somebody fooled with Mother Nature and she's pissed as hell about it.
