The musical extravaganza called the Galax Old Times Fiddler’s Convention is underway and Saturday will be both a long day and a long night that will last into the wee morning hours.
Since what I do for a living is also something I love, it will also be a fun night.
Filming and photographing music is always good therapy, be it the Friday Night Jamboree in Floyd or the Fiddlers Convention in Galax or any one of the many music venues throughout Southwestern Virginia.
Unlike the music I film at the Jamboree in Floyd, which often appears here on Blue Ridge Muse, the Galax event is shot totally for North Carolina television and they have all rights to all footage. I just shoot the film. They edit and keep all of it.
This means I can shoot to my heart’s delight and not have to edit any of it.
Ah, the joy of it all.
