Musicians, singers and dancers from Davis & Elkins College, the small liberal arts school in Elkins, West Virginia, brought both gossip and old-time music and dancing to The Friday Night Jamboree this weekend with rousing performances that packed the Floyd County Store and the dance floor throughout the evening.

D&E is also home of The Augusta Heritage Center, which showcases the musical heritage of the Appalachians and traditional folk life.

The music from the students and faculty of the college brought enthusiasm from traditional fans of the Friday Night Jamboree and a host of newcomers visiting for the first time on a warm evening with spotty rain outside and a lot of action indoors.
