Floyd County High School ended its home game season Friday night with 48-20 loss to Auburn as the Eagles ran roughshod over the Buffaloes.

For a few minutes in the fist half, the Buffaloes had a chance to keep the game close when quarterback Brady Underwood hit Ian Bary with an 80-yard pass play in the first quarter but a failed two-point conversion left the Floyd team behind 7-6 and Auburn increased the lead to 24-12 at the half.

Eagle rusher Jeremy Nelson ran for 334 yards and four touchdowns.

For the night, Buffalo quarterback Underwood was 15-31 in passing for 272 yards and three touchdowns.

The Buffaloes (2-7,1-3) close out the regular season on the road next Friday against Glenvar, who beat Radford in a close game this week.
