The unusual, and incredibly, warm days of mid-December provided motorcycle enthusiasts like myself a chance to get out on the open road. My Harley Switchback is my daily transportation to assignments, the grocery store and day-to-day essentials for most of the past week..
According to the National Weather Service, the temperature will climb to 66 with fog this morning in some spots and sun later in the day in Floyd before a rainy drizzle moves in tonight and we will have wet stuff on Monday with temperatures up to 64 and a return and sun on Tuesday and Wednesday with rain on Thursday and then sun wth temperatures in the 40s and 30s. Cooler, yes, but still damn pleasant at this time in December.
Looks like a wet Christmas with some rain but no snow and the year is expected to close out week after next with high than normal temperatures and no weather that anyone could call close to winter.
This is December? Enjoy it because those who enjoy bringing doom and gloom into long-range weather outlooks say that while January may also be more warm than normal February, March and perhaps even April could being freezing temperatures and forbidding weather.
Enjoy the rest of 2015 but watch out for 2016. It could kick off with a brutal kick in the ass.
