Looking back on the video shot in 2015 in and around Floyd County.

As with most years, the the music culture of the county dominated most of the filming, especially close looks at old-time and Bluegrass.

The Friday Night Jamboree is a popular venue, along with the Chantilly Farms BBQ and Bluegrass Festival. Saturday night music at Wildwoods Farms General Store is growing in popularity.

Politics also figured into the news this past year with contested elections for Sheriff, Supervisors and the School Board. Issues before the Board of Trustees included questions about actions of the school superintendent, taxes and more.

Plans for a controversial natural gas pipeline avoided Floyd County after protests but still threatens Southwestern Virginia.

Sports always figures into the mix. The Floyd County High School Buffaloes made the state finals in 2015 and volleyball is growing in popularity and wins.

Weather was a factor with heavy rainfalls and snow.  The year ends with temperatures above normal but 2016 may still bring cold weather and harshness.
