Good crowds at The Friday Night Jamboree at the Country Store and a free music night at Dogtown Roadhouse kept downtown Floyd hopping to begin the weekend on a cold night.
Dancers young and old packed the floor to hear old time music and Bluegrass at the Country Store. The store will be packed again on Saturday night for the February Radio Show.
Also on tap for the weekend is the annual Mardi Gras, celebrated as a memory of the late Tom Ryan, owner of The Republic of Floyd as well as a music promoter, writer of satirical newsletters and community character.
A busy weekend. The weather forecasters say some snow is on the way for Monday night and Tuesday but the groundhog up in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, claims we will have an early Spring.
Who cares? Have fun.
