Yes, baby, it was cold outside on Friday night but the music was playing and the dancers were hopping inside the Friday Night Jamboree at The Floyd Country Store.
The photos above and below are video captures of the large and enthusiastic crowd on the dance floor. I have a lot of music filmed from the last two weekends and hope to get it edited and posted over the next couple of days, time permitting.
The brief snow squalls caused Floyd County public schools to send students home early Friday and scheduled homecoming basketball games were postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, with junior varsity boys and girls games beginning at 11 a.m. and varsity starting at 1:45 p.m.
Old man weather threatens a cold freeze Saturday with highs only up to 15 degrees before plunging to 6 or so overnight with wind chills of minus 6. Sunday will be only slightly warmer with a high of 25 degrees and then back town to 14 as a “wintry mix” of 3-5 inches is forecast to hit the area on Monday.
So Valentines’ Day might be a good one to cuddle up with a loved one and stay home.
