The thermometer out back reads 38 degrees.

Not bad here in the mountains.  According to the prognosticators who call themselves “meteorologists” the mercury will rise to about 61 here in the Blue Ridge while those at the bottom of the hill will see even more warmth.

Tuesday will bring the 70s.  Same for Wednesday and Thursday and it should be nice for the drive to Richmond Thursday to watch the Lady Buffaloes face Riverview in the Virginia High School League (VHSL) state semi-final in 2A basketball.

The longer-range forecast shows highs in the 60s through mid-month because a “cool spell” down into the 50s.
