A rescheduled Saturday night dance, postponed because of weather, came to the Floyd County Store this weekend with the New Ballard Branch Bogtrotters and an enthusiastic crowd of fans, along with the Old Mountain cloggers on a cool night of mid-March.

Based on the original Bogtrotters of the 1930s, which won the first Galax Fiddlers’ Convention the New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters continue to play tradtional Appalachian string-music.

The current band features Eddie Bond on fiddle, Dennis Hall on guitar, Josh Ellis on clawhammer banjo, Jesse Morris on bass and Leon Frost on mandolin.

Good music, good times and a good evening to film.

It doesn’t get any better.
