The stars stood out brilliantly Monday night when I got home from a meeting so I had to set up the camera for some long time exposures that caught the rotation of the heavenly bodies around Polaris.
The rotation effect, of course, is caused by the movement of the Earth but the circular movement of the starfields has always fascinated me and is a difficult effect to capture on film (or digital chip).
But as I stood in the damp air last night and took in the beauty of the starlit night, all I could think to say is: “My God, that is incredible.”
And it was…and is…and, hopefully, always will be.
