The Floyd County High School Varsity Buffaloes football squad rang up a 35-0 stomping of Patrick County’s Cougars in the FCHS home opener Friday night before a large, enthusiastic crowd that welcomed head coach Winfred Beale back after a controversial seven-day suspension over some unnamed “minor” infractions of someone’s “rules.”
This win by the Buffaloes followed a road victory over Carroll County in Hillsville last week and leaves the team with a 2-0 record to start the season.
The Buffaloes set the pace early when Sean Spencer ran back a punt from the Cougars after their game-starting first possession and put the Buffaloes up 7-0. Floyd never looked back.
