More riding time

After some rain in parts of the county and Southwestern Virginia overnight, the outlook for Friday is cloudy with a slight chance of moisture and then clearing for the evening, bringing a pleasant time for music on the street in Floyd and bull riding at Chantilly Farm.

After the wet, wet August, September has — for the most part  — been dry, giving farmers a chance to get another load of hay mowed and baled while wishing for some rainfall to offset the dry.

For those of us who ride motorcycles, this weather is good and I have put more than a few miles on my Harleys.  My Switchback heads for the dealer next week for its 25,000 mile maintenance and my Super Glide goes in for annual inspection.

The forecast for the weekend looks pretty good.  Will photograph both the County Fair and the Ignite concert Saturday.

Then, hopefully, more time to ride the highways and byways of the Blue Ridge.
