A couple of days ago, we reported that Floyd County’s Buffalo Mountain is not the only oversized hill to be named after bison. Canada, it seems, has a Buffalo Mountain.”
And there’s a heck of a lot more than two. Fred First, who runs the other Floyd County blog went searching on the ‘Net and found Buffalo Mountains all over the place. Hell, there’s even another Buffalo Mountain just across the state line in West-by-God-Virginia.
Colorado’s Buffalo Mountain also towers over our little peak (which tops out at 3,971 feet). Vail Pass on their Buffalo Mountain hits 12,777 feet. Anybody got some oxygen?
