Ah, Spring. ‘Tis the season to be folly on a Floyd-area weekend.
When one looks over the weekend offerings, courtesy of the Floyd Tourism Center, it also appears to be the season for yoga: Three offerings of yoga classes in just one day on Thursday.
The first weekend of April also brings the First Weekend art offerings of the Floyd Artists Association at their gallery from 5-8 p.m. Friday in the Station at South Locust.
Thursday also brings high wind warnings, starting at 8 a.m. and for about 36 hours through Friday at 8 p.m. with high temperatures Thursday around 53 and just 44 on Friday before the wind eases with a high of 57 on Saturday and 68 and sunny on Sunday. Mother Nature is just not getting into a Spring mood.
The Friday Night Jamboree at the Country Store features The Earl White String Band and The Burnt Mountain Benders along with Janet Turner & Friends. Saturday night showcases Bill & the Bells and Farmer and Adele on the Country Store stage.
Dogtown Roadhouse has Monster Atlantic Saturday night starting at 8 p.m. and Arkenstone Friday at 8.
Jason Harris & Friends take the stage at Wildwood Farms Country Store Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
All this and more for a Spring weekend here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
