Action, memories at alumni game Saturday

Lady Buffaloes alumni perform under the watchful eye of legendary basketball coach Alan Cantrell (left), who retired after the 2016-17 season.

Joshua’s HOPE basketball alumni games for 2017 drew a lot of action from past team members of the Floyd County Buffaloes but not a lot of attendees as the matches faced competition from the start of T-Ball season and other events of a busy Easter weekend.

The matches brought old teammates together along with other past graduates of Floyd County High School for a good cause and a lot of fun.

As a 1965 graduate of FCHS, I marvel that some who graduated before me are on the court fighting for the ball and showing bursts of energy that many of us lost long ago.

Those who missed the games Saturday missed good athletic events played by athletes who never seemed to miss a beat on the hardcourt where many played on state championship games and drew applause and honor from their school.

Many more photos in the next edition of the Floyd Press.

Lots of action by FCHS alumni.
