Music, empty bowls & more for weekend

Serving up the food for the bowls
Martha Spencer of the Whitetop Mountain Band.

The crowd favorite Whitetop Mountain Band lights up the stage at The Floyd Country Store Saturday night as part of a crowded weekend of activities that includes the 10th Annual Empty Bowls charity event at Floyd County High School on Sunday.

Thunderstorms also may light up the skies throughout the weekend period.  The National Weather Service in Blacksburg predicts an 80 percent chance of precipitation on Thursday & Friday with 90 percent on Saturday and 11 percent on Sunday.  Time to pull out our rain gear and keep an umbrella handy.

Temperature predictions call for a high of 74 on Thursday and Friday, 69 on Saturday and then 55 on Sunday.

Most of the events this weekend are indoors.  Keep dry and have fun.
