Buffaloes remain unbeaten

Floyd County High School’s Varsity football Buffaloes entered the game Friday night unbeaten and on a string of shutouts but Fort Chiswell’s Pioneers scored first and took a 6-0 lead to the half, looking to upset the homecoming festivities.

Floyd took the lead in the third quarter with a score and extra point and the Pioneers responded with another score and a 2 point conversion to take a 14-7 in the final quarter.  With 5 minutes to go in the game, Floyd marched down the field and tie the score.  Then the Buffs Trevan Via intersepted a deflected Pioneer pass and ran it back 47 yard to set up the winning touchdown by Ian Bary with a little over three minutes to go and then held off the Pioneers to win 21-14, keeping the unbeaten streak alive and a celebration for the homecoming dance afterwards.
