Used the Harley to run errands down to Roanoke and back, taking the long way when possible and enjoyed the sun and nice weather.
Hope to do the same Sunday with sun and temperatures in the high 70s. The upcoming final week of September looks like decent weather and time to wrap up some overdue yard work and other chores around the house along with a reasonably quiet week on the news front.
Court Friday includes a session of drug court, the county board of supervisors will wrap up its meetings for the month and sports includes middle school and junior varsity football at home along with volleyball while the golf goes into a regional tournament away at Ashley Plantation.
The varsity football Buffaloes head to Hillsviille to play Carroll County High and cross country teams are away next weekend.
The cross country event expected for Chantilly Farms this season is cancelled. We understand the course was considered too tough for some. It that is true, it is too bad.
This time of year normally would have included rides along the Blue Ridge Parkway for fall colors but the questionable decision by the National Park Service to use chip-seal instead of normal asphalt had turned the scenic road into a morass of gravel that makes its use hazardous for bicyclists and motorcycles and a pain for those on four-wheelers.
Too bad.
Fall is upon us. Enjoy it as be you can.
