This second weekend of October 2017 kicks off with a Friday the 13th. Be careful out there.
The weekend also bring “Midnight at the Oasis” wafting through the air along South Locust Street in Floyd when Maria Muldaur appears at Dogtown Roadhouse on Saturday at 8 p.m.
Plenty of music throughout the area, including Music in the Mountains at Hotel Floyd, Old-Time Jams at Tuggles Gap on Thursday and Sunday at both the Floyd Country Store and Wildwood Farms on U.S. 221 south of Floyd.
The Friday Night Jamboree anchors Friday evening on South Locust.
And Thursday features a film about Wendell Berry, farms and the ag culture screening at the Country Store.
Lots to do and remember to watch out for black cats on Friday the 13th.
