Austin Gallimore drives for a goal. He scored 11 for the game.

Floyd County’s Varsity basketball boys basketball Buffaloes added a second win of the young season Wednesday night at home over the tough Patrick County Cougars after going into the locker room at halftime down by one point and then controlling the second half by outscoring the opposing team 11-8 in the third quarter and 17-10 in the final period.

The 46-36 win puts the Buffaloes at 2-0 as they head into another home game Friday against Auburn and a Monday night matchup against Blacksburg.

Austin Gallimore’s 11 points led Buffalo scoring with six from Noah Bolt and six by Cooper Neukirch.

The JV Buffs lost 38-34 in a game that could have gone either way until the closing seconds.
