Lady Buffs’ rankings in Timesland stats

Among varsity basketball lady players in area high schools, Floyd County High School senior guard Michaela Thompson ranks in third place in three-point goal percentage so far this year.

The rankings come from the “Timesland Girls Basketball” statistical roundup issued this week by The Roanoke Times.

Thompson hit 16 of 36 attempts of shots from the three-point lines for an average of 43.2 percent.

Lady Buffalo senior guard Abi Belshan ranked highest total scoring percentages among her teammates with 205 points and a 14.6 average in 14 games so far this season, followed by freshman guard Alexis Kiser with 154 points with 11 points average and Thompson with 152 points (10.9).

Belshan led teammates in rebounds with 98 and an average of 7 per game.

The Lady Buffaloes meet Radford Friday night at home.

For the record, Michaela Thompson is not a relative.  I am not releated to any of the Thompsons in Floyd County.
