Varsity Buffaloes beat Alleghany, head for district playoffs

Floyd County High School’s varsity basketball Buffaloes finished the regular season at home with Senior Night and a 55-43 win over tough Alleghany.

Caden Sutphin led Buffs scoring with 14 points, followed by Austin Gallimore with 10.

In the hard-fought Junior Varsity game, guard Grant Gallimore kept tying the game up with key three-pointers time ran out with the scored tied 40 all before heading into an overtime where the Buffaloes kept tying things up until time ran out with Alleghany coming out of top by one point at the end.

The boys start the playoffs Friday with both location and opponent to be set while the Lady Buffs head for Alleghany Wednesday night for their season finale and then open District playoffs at home against James River Friday night and will host the beginning of Regional playoffs next Friday.
