Floyd County High School’s Buffaloes appeared in control of the Region 2C semi-final match against the Bulldogs in Martinsville Thursday night; leading by as much as eight points in the second quarter.

But a determined Martinsville squad outscored te Lady Buffs 15-4 in the third quarter and ended Floyd’s seasons with a 53-43 win.

Michaela Thompson led scoring for the Buffaloes with 18 points, followed by 13 from Hannah Belshan. leaving the girls to spend this final weekend in Floyd at home.

A win Thursday would have qualified the ladies for a the state playoffs next week.
