Bill & The Belles at The Floyd Country Store during The Floyd Radio Show.

The Friday Night Jamboree became a “must visit” venue for Bluegrass fans over the years with the concerts at the Floyd Country Store, but what was just open primarily on Fridays has become a location for music of all kinds as showcased this weekend.

The Jamboree, of course, kicks off Friday at 6:30 p.m. but other — and often different — forms of music flow from the state with the weekly Americana Afternoon concert series that begins at noon on each Saturday along with Saturday night concerts that feature a varied list of musical groups like Bill & the Belles this weekend.

Bill and his ladies provide an often rambunctious mix of music that is is varied and entertaining.  The Johnson City, TN, group has lit up the stage of the Floyd Radio Show and have shared the stage with national acts like Hot Ri, the Gibson Brothers and Larry Sparks.  Their music includes Southern ballads, popular songs of Tin Pan Alley and regional fiddle tunes.

They hit the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

A reminder:  This is spring forward weekend: We go on Daylight Savings Time at 0200 Sunday morning.  Remember to set your clocks ahead when you go go bed Saturday night.
