FloydFest 18,, “Wild” kicks off Wednesday for a five-day run on the site just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 170.5.

The annual extravaganza brings thousands to our rural area of Southwestern Virginia and the Blue Ridge Mountains with music, food, vendors and attractions that has grown over the years since beginning in 2002.

Local restaurants, shops and music venues can expect extra patrons from those who take a break from the schedule that officially extends from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day and night and often goes around the clock and many camp out or stay in RVs on the site.

For non-festival fans, the weekend offers other events, including the Friday Night Jamboree at the Country Store (which also has a concert on Thursday night), Bluegrass music at Wildwood Farms on Saturday night and much more.

Whatever your taste, there is music or events to be found.  Selected events from the schedule of events provided by the folks at the Floyd Tourism office and on their website.
