A wet arrival for early patrons of FloydFest

Thunderstorms that drenched Floyd County and surrounding areas of Southwestern Virginia also fell on the first day of FloydFest Wednesday as patrons began to arrive for the five days of festivals just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at the county line with Patrick.

Current weather forecasts predict better weather for Thursday, Friday and Saturday and the early parts of Sunday, good news for the gathering.

And the music wasn’t underway on all the stages early Wednesday afternoon, the crowd was the show.
