Say what you want about soccer. When women play the game, it ain’t ladylike. It’s rough and tumble from opening to closing whistles and neither side takes prisoners.
Like this recent bout at Floyd County High School between the Lady Buffs (white) and Glenvar (green). Hard fought to the wire with Glenvar eeking out a victory by a goal in overtime.
Like most places in the U.S., soccer plays to mostly-empty stadiums in Floyd County but those who play the game say it doesn’t matter whether the stands are full or not. They play for the hell of it and they play hard.
